eGov Design Authority Invitation to Tender

Following on from my recent blog, which set out our intentions to establish a Design Authority, we’ve published an invitation to tender on our procurement portal.

We’ve had lots of feedback about our procurement process and aim to continue to develop the approach. For this tender we’ve decided to make all of the initial documentation publicly available as opposed to limiting access to the secure portal only. The tender will still be managed exclusively via the portal so any party interested in tendering should still respond through the portal as the only way of competing for this project. This balances the intention to be more transparent with the need to maintain effective governance.

Such is the variation of opinion, some content you’ll support, other content you’ll question, either way you can see it.

There are other important changes in response to feedback; we have kept the statement of requirements at a high level, giving freedom to tenderers to be creative with their proposals and avoiding limiting our options.

For those companies who wish to register an interest, we will supplement the documentation by inviting them to join a presentation in which we will expand on the themes in the documentation and follow this with closed 1-2-1s with potential tenderers.
