News this week… Neuroinclusive Strategy launched, SEND Review published, Winter Vaccination Programme continues, and more

This week, the Government of Jersey shared several updates reflecting its ongoing commitment to inclusion, educational improvement, community wellbeing, and public health.

Neuroinclusive Strategy Launched
Jersey’s first Neuroinclusive Strategy has been published, outlining 24 actions across seven priority areas to support neurodivergent Islanders. Developed by Health and Care Jersey and Autism Jersey, the strategy is based on input from over 500 Islanders and will be delivered over three years, with a steering group overseeing implementation.

Independent SEND Review published
An independent review of inclusion in Jersey schools has highlighted both strengths and areas for improvement in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities. The Government has accepted all recommendations and begun implementing changes to improve consistency and leadership across schools. The Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning, Deputy Rob Ward, responded to the review in a statement.

Winter Vaccination and Coercive Control Awareness
Islanders are encouraged to book their flu and COVID-19 vaccinations as part of the winter programme, with appointments available for over-65s, frontline workers, and those with health conditions. Meanwhile, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Government is raising awareness of coercive control, a form of emotional abuse, and urging Islanders to learn how to recognise the signs and seek support.

These updates reflect a government focused on practical health solutions, community safety, and empowering Islanders to make informed choices.
